Five Random Thoughts
I’ve been working on a blog makeover lately. Do you like my new design??? I’ve been blogging for 6 years now and the blog is consistently changing. (I love oxymorons) I’ve been trying to decide what I love writing about the most and it is very random. I love writing about running, homeschool, faith, food, and family. So, I changed my categories at the top and will work on posts that fit those categories. Maybe. We will see. That’s the fun of blogging, you can change your focus whenever you want. So for now, a lot of those categories will be blank because it will take some time to re-organize the blog.
I’ve been examining my Instagram feed lately and realize that my favorite posts to see are running and homeschool posts. I follow SEVERAL runners that I don’t know personally, but love seeing their training and running posts. It is encouraging and inspiring. The running community is pretty grand. I have NEVER felt any kind of competition in the running community. It is a true Community over Competition environment because running is such a personal journey. Everyone in the community cheers on each others successes and encourages you to press on in the failures. So don’t be surprised if you see more of my own personal running posts on Instagram.
I also love following other homeschoolers. I love seeing the joys of doing school together mixed in with the funny stories. I haven’t posted much of our homeschool on social media because I can typically never find my phone during the day! haha
I drink way too much coffee in the morning and need to get a handle on it. It’s not that I have this great need to drink it. I just LOVE sitting early in the morning with my favorite coffee cup and reading, praying, thinking, and planning for the day. It is my favorite time of the day and I find myself heading to the coffee pot and refilling my cup more than I should. I try to make up for it by drinking plenty of water during the day. But, I need to start setting myself a limit.
I have always had some kind of color on my hair. But, this year I decided to grow my hair out and see what my natural color actually was. I haven’t had it colored since February so I’ve been pretty proud of myself. BUT—– just the other day I found some GRAY HAIRS! Ugh! I’m not ready to go gray, so I will start coloring my hair again when you can see them.
My kids entered 32 crafts between the two of them in our local county fair. We spent 3 entire days working on all of them and paint and craft items were all over the house. I’m not really the “crafty mom” so I had to take a lot of deep breaths during the crafting storm They were excited to bring home some ribbons. One of my favorite items they made was this clay tomato horn worm that my 6 year old boy made. He came up with it on his own and showed it to me after it was done.
