Day 1:

Okay Guys—–

This is crazy for me! I am going to participate in the 31 days blogging series in October. For those of you not familiar with “Blog World” — basically it’s a challenge to write for 31 days straight.

For the next 30 days during the month of October you will find me posting daily tid-bits about pursing intentional friendship.

I don’t post these musings because I am the perfect friend. I’m able to post most of them because of a way a friend has treated me!

Because believe me- I’m a mess. As one of my good friends would say: “I’m a HOT mess with all kinds of Hot! ”

But in all seriousness we live in a “Social Media” world where friendships can be false, shallow, or non-existent. Friendship has taken on a whole new look in this technological age. Some of the old traditional values and etiquette have been lost and traded for new ones such as “likes” and “comments” instead of face to face lunches, encouraging notes, or just some sweet tea on the front porch.

We live in a BUSY BUSY BUSY world so it gets hard to navigate the to-do’s, family, extra curricular activities, relationships, and friendships.

So over the next month we are going to be chatting about intentional ways to pursue intentional friendships.

I hope you’ll join me!!! (and give me some GRACE- I’m super scared and nervous about making a commitment to write for 31 days!!!! I think I average about 2 posts per month! lol What am I thinking?!?!?)

  1. I know what you mean. We live in such a fast-paced world where everyone is trying to connect and build social media relationships. How do we keep up and slow down? Build those face to face relationships? Great topic. Looking forward to reading more.

  2. I love this topic, Amanda!!! I know you will rock these posts. Love your genuine personality!

  3. Amanda, I just pinned this to finish reading later…it is a topic near and dear to my heart! Kelcie mentioned how much she loves your blog (and I realized I had already liked you on FB but your posts don’t show up in my feed:( so hopefully now they will since I clicked it today.

After moving a few times in 16 years since getting married, being intentional matters deeply. While I believe it’s also part of my nature, it is still effort. Thanks for the reminder this morning.

  5. Please let me know if you’re looking for a writer
for your weblog. You have some really great articles and I feel I
would be a good asset. If you ever want to take some of the load off, I’d love
to write some articles for your blog in exchange for a link
back to mine. Please blast me an e-mail if interested. Thanks!

  6. What you published was actually very logical. But, what about this?
suppose you added a little information? I mean, I don’t wish to tell you how to run your blog, however suppose
you added a title that makes people desire more? I mean 31 days to Intentional Friendship – Amanda Farris is a little plain. You ought to look at
Yahoo’s home page and note how they create news headlines to
grab people to open the links. You might add a related video or
a related pic or two to grab people excited about everything’ve written. In my opinion, it could bring your blog a little bit more interesting.
