Day 17: Remember their Favorites
Today is just a simple gesture towards Intentional Friendship that takes minimal effort, but yet can make your friends feel value and loved.
Remember their Favorites.
When they come over for dinner make an effort to serve one of their favorite dishes, desserts, or drinks.
It always makes someone feel loved when they go to someones house and they have prepared one of their favorites. (Especially if your friends are picky eaters lol!)
When their birthday comes around– Do you remember their favorite dessert to treat them to?
Do you know their favorite guilty pleasure? Is it a chocolate shake? Starbucks coffee? or just an expensive chap-stick?
What is their favorite holiday? Favorite color? Favorite Scent? Favorite Song?
You don’t have to remember EVERYTHING about your friends, but make a conscious effort to commit to memory 1 or 2 of their favorites.
When you know a couple of their favorites it makes it easy to shower a quick blessing or pick me up.
So remember your friends favorites to pursue Intentional Friendship.
There is a lady in our hometown who I promise has to know every single persons favorite dessert! For any birthday or community hosting situation she always knows who is coming and makes it a priority to prepare their favorite dessert of snack. Her kids are past school age now, but she can tell you almost everyone of their classmates favorite meal, dessert, or snack. That goes to show how intentional she was on pouring out love and kindness to everyone.
As a friend, doesn’t it make you feel valued when one of your friends remembers your favorites?
